Beginning Jewelry 8 week, 3 hours/week, $225 +materials

This beginning level jewelry class will provide a solid foundation of metal, tools, techniques, and safety. We will make approximately 5 pieces of jewelry over the 8 weeks with the final project being a spinner ring. Design ideas will be provided or students are free to create their own. The pictures at the bottom are a sample of jewelry made using techinques taught in beginning jewelry.
The following techniques will be covered:
*sawing *polishing *soldering *forming
*piercing *texturing *patinas *ring sizing and making
*sanding/filing *stamping *bezel setting *making ear wires
The following tools will be covered:
*flex shaft *disc cutter
*rolling mill *dapping block
*hydraulic press *soldering torch
You will receive a manual with step by step instructions to go along with the class.

10 hours of studio time are provided with this class. Studio time must be used within 90 days of the last class.
Beginning Jewelry covers the fundamentals of metalsmithing. Each class builds on the week before so missing a class can be challenging. In particular, missing week 4 which covers the soldering foundation will set you behind. Your options to make up a class are:
1. make it up with another beginning jewelry class, although you may have to wait for awhile depending on the schedule.
2. schedule and pay for an hour private lesson
Beginning Jewelry - Wednesdays, 11/13/19 - 1/22/20, 6-9pm
No refunds are given for cancellations.
Cancellations received at least 1 week prior to the start of class will receive a credit to use in a future class or workshop. Credits must be used within 3 months from date of cancellation.
Cancellations received less that 1 week from the start of class will NOT receive a credit or refund.
Exception: If KP Studio cancels a class or workshop, you will have a choice between a credit or a 100% refund.
