Service Description

Prong Setting This class is in person for 4 weeks, 3 hours per week. If you do not live in Phoenix or can not participate in person, you can visit our online classes. ​ Class cost: $285 and includes some materials. Remainder of materials must be purchased and cost approximately $100-$150. To see full supply list, please visit the "Class Supplies" tab at the top of the page. Once you register for the class, a copy of the supply list will be sent to the email you register with. Please check your spam or junk folders if you do not see it in your inbox. In this class students will learn to use multiple burs to cut a seat for a round faceted stone. Students will learn to set stones in a cast ring, semi-fabricated ring and a fully fabricated ring. Students will be fabricating a prong setting from sterling silver and will learn to modify tools and make a setting tool. ​ The following techniques will be covered: *advanced soldering *faceted stone anatomy *tool modification *bur control *tool making *stone setting You will receive a manual with all the techniques and step by step instructions to go along with the class. 10 hours of studio time are provided with this class. Studio time must be used within 90 days of the last class. Make sure you purchase your supplies prior to the start of class. See link above to the materials list. PREREQUISITES: Intermediate Jewelry or equivalent experience. Students MUST have learned tube setting. It is highly recommended that you complete our flush setting class prior to taking this class.
