INTRO TO METALSMITHING SERIES

The Intro to Metalsmithing Series is a beginning level jewelry class that will provide you with a thorough and solid foundation of metalsmithing. The Series is divided into 4 individual classes so you can take each part when you are ready. This is also great if you have taken a class before and are looking to brush up on a skill. Each part builds on the previous section so they assume you have the skills from the prior lessons.

By the end of this series you will have the knowledge to set up a small home studio and basic metalsmithing skills allowing you to go on to take more intermediate level classes.

Each class in The Intro Series is $50 or you can choose the bundle of all 4 classes for $175. With your purchase you are able to join our private KP Studio Facebook student community where you can ask questions to our instructors and talk to other students.

INTRO TO METALSMITHING PART 1: Sawing and Piercing $50
​
Part 1 contains a class manual and 6 videos totaling approximately 96 minutes. The project is a pair of earrings pictured to the right.

*bench and tool set up *filing
*safety *sanding and finishing
*making ear wires

Tools and supplies for part 1 are approximately $200. Remember that many of the tools will be used in future lessons if you decided to take all four parts.

INTRO TO METALSMITHING PART 2: Soldering Basics $50
​
Part 2 contains a class manual and 6 videos totaling approximately 90 minutes. The project is a pendant pictured to the right.

Tools and supplies for part 2 are approximately $300. If you took part 1 you will already have a lot of the tools so the tool cost will be closer to $100.

INTRO TO METALSMITHING PART 3: Ring Making $50
​
Part 3 contains a class manual and 9 videos totaling approximately 80 minutes. The projects are a ring band and set of stacking rings pictured to the right.

Tools and supplies for part 3 are approximately $300. If you took parts 1 and 2 you will already have a lot of the tools so the tool cost will be closer to $120.

INTRO TO METALSMITHING PART 4: Cabochon Ring $50
​
Part 4 contains a class manual and 7 videos totaling approximately 80 minutes. The projects are a cabochon ring pictured to the right.

Tools and supplies for part 4 are approximately $280. If you took parts 1-3 you will already have a lot of the tools so the tool cost will be closer to $60.

Solder Troubleshooting $40​
​
This class is for students have learned how to solder but are struggling with consistent soldering success.
​
We will review the soldering principles along with the most common challenges that I see and how to fix them.
No extra tools or supplies needed.
