
INTERMEDIATE JEWELRY
Intermediate Jewelry
This class is in person for 6 weeks, 3 hours/week. If you do not live in Phoenix or can not participate in person, you can visit our online classes.
Class cost: $250 plus materials. Materials are approximately $150-$200
Maximum of 8 students.
In this class we will refine and build on the skills learned in the beginning class. We will make approximately 4 pieces of jewelry. Each lesson will guide you through the fabrication and design process of a specific technique. Design ideas will be provided. The pictures below are a sample of jewelry made using techniques that will be taught in intermediate jewelry.
The following techniques will be covered:
*forging *split shank ring band
*chain making *tube setting faceted stones
*clasps *attaching jump rings to chains
*fancy bezels. *advanced cabochon setting
*multi stone ring *adding design elements to cabochon rings
You will receive a manual with step by step instructions to go along with the class.
You receive 10 hours of studio time with this class. Studio time must be used within 90 days of the last class.
PREREQUISITE: Beginning Jewelry at KP Studio or an equivalent at another jewelry studio. (If it has been a while since your beginning class, you may want to consider taking the beginning class as a refresher.)
Intermediate Jewelry-Weekend Intensive
2 day, intermediate level class
$350 +materials 6 students maximum per class
This class is usually held on Saturday and Sunday from 10am-6pm.
Please be aware that the pace of this class moves very quickly.
In this class we will refine and build on the skills learned in the beginning class. Each student will explore, experiment and develop basic jewelry making skills. We will make approximately 3 pieces of jewelry over the 2 day class using the techniques taught in the class. You will receive 30 days of unlimited studio time after the class has finished.
The following techniques will be covered:
*sawing *polishing *sanding *flex shaft uses
*piercing *texturing *stamping *ring sizing and making
*filing *soldering *patinas *making ear wires
*forming *rolling mill techniques
Design ideas will be provided or you can use your own designs. We will make a spinner ring as the final project. The pictures below are samples of jewelry made using the techniques that will be taught in intermediate jewelry.
