Sand Casting 4 hours Workshop cost: $190, materials separate. To see full supply list, please visit the "Class Supplies" tab at the top of the page. In this intermediate-level workshop, students will learn a fun way to cast metal using sand. This technique has been around for hundreds of years. Students will learn how to make a hollow form in the sand and how to melt sterling silver and pour it into the sand to create a piece of jewelry. Students will be making a ring with a stone in this class. The pictures above are a sample of jewelry made using techniques taught in this class. 3 hours of studio time are provided with this workshop. Studio time must be used within 90 days of the last class. Make sure you purchase your supplies prior to the start of class. See link above to the materials list. PREREQUISITES: Beginning jewelry or equivalent experience. Must know how to saw, use a flex shaft and use a torch.
